Recent media reports questioning the safety of herbal medicine have left some people uneasy about taking it.
To show that herbal medicine is not the risky thing it has been made out to be, we ran blood tests on our own patients who had been taking it for three months or longer.
The testing covered 103 patients over roughly six months, and the results showed no concerning findings such as liver or kidney damage from the herbal medicine.
The data is compiled in a binder in our waiting room, so anyone can look through it, and it is also posted on our website under "Herbal Ingredient Safety Testing."
At Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic, herbs are inspected thoroughly from selection through delivery, and every month we test our herbs, decoctions and pills for heavy metals and residual sulfur dioxide.
We will keep getting the basics right.
