We have filed a new patent: a composition that promotes hair growth by activating follicular stem cells.

Dr. Lee Moon Won has been researching hair loss treatments since 2002. Building on that work, he selected 18 herbal medicines, formulated them into an injectable, and showed that injecting it into the scalp promotes hair growth. That is what this patent filing covers.

He named the two patented ingredients LMW19-A and LMW19-B, and testing confirmed that they activate the stem cells in the hair follicle to promote regrowth.

Follicular stem cells are multipotent cells that sit in the bulge region of the hair follicle. They play a key role in producing new hair during the growth cycle and in repairing damaged tissue.

In other words, they are central to keeping the follicle structurally and functionally sound, and they work together with outer root sheath cells and dermal papilla cells to drive hair growth and regeneration.

So when hair loss makes regrowth difficult, reactivating those follicular stem cells to restart growth is an important part of treatment.

LMW19-A and LMW19-B are made purely from herbal extracts, drawn from herbs that are widely used and safe to take internally. That keeps the side effects associated with conventional chemical treatments to a minimum and offers a safer way to improve or treat hair loss.

They can also be injected directly into the area of hair loss, or anywhere growth is wanted, so patients can use them without worrying about taking oral medication or about unwanted body hair.
