Leemoonwon Bio, the Research Affiliate of Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic, Selected for the Korean Government's TIPS Program

We are pleased to announce that Leemoonwon Bio Co., Ltd., the research and development affiliate of Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic, has been selected for the TIPS General Track (Startup Growth Technology Development R&D), Korea's flagship startup support program run by the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

How Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic and Leemoonwon Bio Are Related

Since opening in Gangnam in 2005, Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic has spent 20 years focused on treating hair loss, providing more than 200,000 patient visits for people from 103 countries. The clinical observations and prescribing expertise built up along the way became the research foundation of Leemoonwon Bio, an R&D company founded in 2021. The two organizations have clearly distinct roles: Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic is the medical institution that treats patients directly, while Leemoonwon Bio is the R&D company that investigates that clinical experience scientifically and develops it into intellectual property.

What This Selection Means

TIPS is a flagship national program in which the government selects a small number of companies with strong growth potential and technology, providing not only R&D funding but also expert consulting and commercialization support. Through this selection, Leemoonwon Bio will receive government R&D funding for 24 months to scientifically investigate the mechanism of action of Super Hair Shot, a formulation our clinic has used in treatment for many years. The research is currently underway and is planned to lead to publication in academic journals and registration as a cosmetic ingredient.

In addition, our clinic's Medical Head Spa program was confirmed this year as a wellness tourism program supported by the Korea Tourism Organization under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. We see this as government recognition of our efforts to provide a better care environment for patients from Korea and abroad, and we will continue to uphold our principle of individualized care.
