After the alopecia areata appeared, the patient's symptoms kept getting worse despite conventional treatment, so they came in to add Korean herbal medicine. Things seemed to get a little worse at first after starting herbal treatment, but then new hair began to grow quickly. Even though shedding stayed about the same, more new hair was growing in, so the alopecia areata stopped progressing and the hair gradually recovered.
