Treatment Progress
Alopecia areata appeared suddenly a few years ago, and since then it has tended to recur about once a year. It came back again this time, so the patient came in. It always improved quickly with treatment, but because it recurred so often, they wanted to try Korean herbal medicine. The patch wasn't large, so we treated it with herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture, and a spray-on treatment (RH-2) only, and hair began growing back after just a few sessions.
Even after new hair starts growing, it needs to reach about 3–5 cm before we consider it healthy, so we continued treatment until it grew to about 3 cm. We also asked the patient to adjust their diet and get more sleep, and because they followed through, treatment was completed smoothly.
