Clinical Notes
- Symptoms & Diagnosis
- This was the third recurrence of alopecia areata. The patient was being treated at another clinic without improvement and came in to try a different approach. At the first visit, hair was still falling out heavily, some areas were sunken, and overall shedding had increased beyond the patches, reducing overall density. A health checkup showed nothing unusual, so it was assessed as typical autoimmune alopecia areata.
- Treatment Plan
- Oral herbal medicine twice a day (RH-1), pharmacopuncture every two weeks, a spray-on treatment applied to the patches and surrounding area twice a day (RH-2), and an anti-hair-loss shampoo
- Treatment Period
- August 2019 – March 2020
