KBS2's 'Challenge Earth Exploration', which recently caused controversy due to an anaconda bite accident, will broadcast this week the images of three meaningful doctors who went on a medical volunteer trip to a remote area in Sri Lanka.
At the end of last year, the devastating power of the tsunami struck many countries, leaving tens of thousands of people dead and missing, causing a great shock to the entire world. In particular, Sri Lanka is the country that suffered the most damage.
Sri Lanka is still suffering from the damage from the tsunami. Slow recovery work and poor environments are making people tired, but what is even more urgent is medical facilities. The tribes living in remote areas of the jungle are not even receiving the benefits of aid from around the world. In particular, people are easily exposed to diseases due to a lack of medical facilities in remote areas of the jungle.
Oriental medicine doctor Lee Moon-won, dermatologist Han Ki-deok, and dentist Hwang Seong-sik visit a remote area of Sri Lanka. Here, actor Lee Sol accompanies the group and provides medical services to people in remote areas who are anxiously awaiting treatment.
The place they are visiting is a remote area called ‘Mahiangana’, which takes eight hours to reach even from the capital Colombo. The Weda people who live there suffer from various diseases and poverty due to being isolated in the jungle. Three Korean doctors roll up their sleeves to treat the diseases of the Weda people and then touch their hearts with warm medical techniques.
This program will be broadcast on KBS2 TV at 8:50 am on Sunday, September 25th.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that 'Challenge, Earth Exploration', which has been popular as a long-running program for the past 10 years, will end on the 30th of next month.
